The EurekaLab at The Meadowbrook School exists as both a physical space and an idea.

The EurekaLab is a physical space. It's a place to think, dream, make and do. Making materials of all kinds fill the space. 3D printers sit next to pipe cleaners and duct tape, and students are just as likely to reach for tooth picks as they are to use the laser cutter to solve a problem.

The EurekaLab is also an idea. It's an approach to learning focused on creating young people who are equipped to solve problems for our rapidly changing world. The EureakLab exists in any Meadowbrook classroom when students create for the tangible world as they think with their hands as well as their minds. It's a belief that our students should be empowered, not only to solve problems in the future, but to solve problems for others today.

The EurekaLab aims to share learning by doing with a wide audience. Our students benefit from the lab when tackling deep problems as projects. Our community uses the lab through The Saturday Thing and other programs designed to welcome the larger community. The EurekaLab also seeks to share with other educators what we've learned as we prototype and try new techniques in building understanding.

The EurekaLab was sparked by a Meadowbrook School MLI Project consisting of the following members:
